Good News Friday: Southeastern Student Takes Part in Stock Market Challenge

Stoughton's Edryiha "Sarah" Santos was part of a team of four Southeastern Regional Technical students who took part in the 8th Annual Junior Achievement Stock Market Challenge at the State Street Corporation in Boston, Nov. 21. There are business marketing majors and took part in simulated training on the floor. “It helped me see a different side of marketing that I didn’t see before,” said Santos. “I learned to work under pressure, which is a tool I will need.”

Stoughton Police Chief's Roast Raises Money for Charity
Stoughton Police Chief Paul Shastany presented a check to Robert Flaherty of Cops for Kids With Cancer. Stastany was "roasting victim" of the Stoughton Chamber of Commerce in November. The proceeds of the night went to the charity Stastany selected.

Dunkin' Donuts Makes Donations to Food Pantry Foundation
Thanks to Stoughton Chamber of Commerce's Terry Schneider for letting Stoughton Patch know of the donation that Dunkin Donuts, the Couto Companies, made to the Doin' It for Diane Committtee for the Food Pantry Foundation of Stoughton. The generous amount was $2,500.

Tickets Going Fast For 'Murder of the Loaded Librarian
Tickets are going fast for "Murder of the Loaded Librarian", Saturday, Jan. 18, from 7-9 p.m. at Ahavath Torah Congregation, 1179 Central St. You can get tickets from cast members. There will be no sales at the door. Fred Yaitanes is the director, assisted by Jan Jones of Little Theatre. The cast is Steve Bates, Bob Devine, Mark Dolloff, Steve Kelley, Dave Lambert, Donna Lucourto, Juliette Miller, Chris Petrie, TJ Recupero, Peggy Sewlcyk, Dr. Maggie Rizzi on base and library director Pat Basler will be the host.

Stoughton Man Wins BMW Gallery Sweepstakes

BMW Gallery of Norwood announced Kevin Coyne of Stoughton was their winner of the Three for Free sweepstakes. He brought a pre-owned 2011 BMW 328xi last March from BMW Gallery of Norwood and now is receiving three free car payments, which is a $3,000 value.
