Forum to Focus on Economic Development

An economic development forum, sponsored by the Stoughton Master Plan Committee, will be held Monday, Nov. 23, at Stoughton Senior Center/Youth Center, 110 Rockland St., from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Public comment from residents, business and property owners is welcome. Thanksgiving Trash Schedule
There will be no curbside trash collection and recycling  Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28. Instead, trash collection will be Friday, Nov. 29 in addition to regular Friday collection. All rubbish and recyclables must be curbside by 7 a.m. on your collection day. Saturday, Nov. 30, will be the last day for Stoughton residents to bring leaves and chipable brush from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. only to the Gay Street storage yard, behind Meads Meadow. Recyclables must be as follows: Commingled containers (glass, plastic, aluminum cans and aluminum foil, curbside newsprint (newspapers, cardboard boxes, brown paper bags, magazines, phone books and inserts. The transfer station is open every Sunday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Plastic containers, bags or boxes broken or damaged because of cold weather conditions or animals will be the responsibility of homeowners. Large household appliances (metal items) must be called into the Public Works for appointment for pickup (781-344-2112).

Thanksgiving Day in Canton This Year
The Stoughton High football team will be traveling to Canton Thanksgiving Day for a 10 a.m. game against the Bulldogs.

A Break for Borrowers at Stoughton Public Library
For the month of November, the Stoughton Public Library is accepting "payment" for late fees in the form of new canned and box food items. They will wipe out $1 worth of fines for every item donated. All items will be donated to the Stoughton food pantries.

A Little Warmer Today
It will be a little warmer today with high temperatures reaching 35 degrees under sunny skies, according to WHDH. There will be gutsy wins early before they lessen later in the day.
