Countdown to Roasting Stoughton Police Chief
You know there will be a lot of practicing of jokes today as the roasters to get ready to roster Stoughton Police Chief Paul Shastany tonight at the Portuguese National Club from 7-9:30 p.m. A portion of the proceeds will go to benefit "Cops for Kids with Cancer," the charity selected by the chief. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at the door. Stoughton Patch columnist Mark Snyder will be your host for the evening.
-The Stoughton Council on Aging is hosting an appreciation breakfast for Stoughton veterans today at the O'Donnell Middle School at 8 a.m., following there will be a program for everyone to attend. Reservations had to be made by Wednesday.
-The Stoughton High football team is hosting Hopkinton in the semifinals of the Division 3 Southwest playoffs at 6 p.m. North Attleboro is at Oliver Ames in the other semifinal at 7 p.m., so it will be possibly to see the whole Stoughton and probably a little less than half of the North Attleboro-OA game.
-There will a holiday fair at the the First United Methodist Church, today from noon-7 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 9, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will a roast beef supper Saturday, Nov. 9 at 6 p.m. There will be a silent auction, including signed Red Sox items, porcelain dolls, Stars Wars Ken and Barbie set and all kinds of homemade baked goods.
-It will be windy and cooler today, according to WHDH-TV, with sun and clouds. Temperatures will be in the upper 40s to lower 50s. There will be a low of 37 tonight.
