The Storywalk Trail is open and the ribbon cutting ceremony will be Monday, Oct. 14, at 11:30 a.m. The trail, which features a children's book along the walkway, is located directly behind the Bradley M. Lessa Memorial Playground, 1258 West St. The ceremony will happen after the Bradley M. Lessa Memorial Playground Memorial Fundraiser Walk at 10 a.m. The donation is $15 and includes a BBQ. Checks should be made payable to The Lessa Family Benefit, c/o The Lessa Family, 984 West St., Stoughton, 02072. A 100-percent of the proceeds go to purchase playground equipment.
The Chess Club will be meeting at the Stoughton Library at 5 p.m. today. The library will be pressing a two-day chess tournament with Jozef Wawrzak, starting Oct. 12 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and continuing to Saturday, Oct. 19, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will also be an award ceremony on Oct. 19 from 4-4:30 p.m.
There will be a preschool story time at the Stoughton Library today at 6;30 p.m.
The Community Preservation Committee will be meeting tonight at the town hall at 7 p.m.
The Stoughton Women's Club will be meeting at library at 11:45 a.m.
