Gallery: Stoughton High Drama Department Presents "The Wiz"

The Stoughton High Drama Department presented "The Wiz," an adaptation of the Wizard of Oz, with a few twists from the classic tale May 10-12 at the Stoughton High auditorium. Amber Ais played Dorothy, William Philips played the Scarecrow, Matt Scabia played the Tin Man, and Dan Block was the Lion.  Josh Williams was The Wiz, Caroline Cusack was Addaperle and Olivia Quattrucci was Evillene. Other cast members included Kati Elwood, Dan Fountain, Jenna Morris, Lisa Bontemps, Nzinga Moore, Anike Tella, Dieyniella Viera, Madison Rosbach, Lana D'Addieco, Sierra Watson, Samantha Langmead, Kirsten Mauriello, Hannah Morgan, Tessa McKeen, Samantha DeLosh, Ilisa Flum, Mikaella Dutra, Olivia Mulrey, Corey Shore, Heather Wallace and Alexander Smith. …

OMS Jazz Bands Strike Gold, Silver at Middle School Jazz Festival

The O’Donnell Middle School Wednesday Jazz Band and 6th Grade Jazz Band were honored for their performances at the recent MAJE Middle School Jazz Festival, a regional competition held at Stoughton High.

The following is from the Stoughton Public Schools Music Department: The Stoughton Public Schools Music Department hosted the 2013 MAJE Middle School Jazz Festival on Thursday, May 9 at Stoughton High School. This festival was sponsored by the Massachusetts  Association for Jazz Education. Middle school bands from Stoughton, Mattapoisett, Easton, Hull, East Bridgewater, Norwood, Rochester, Medfield, Needham and Foxborough attended this year's festival. The OMS 6th Grade Jazz Band directed by Ann Dorgan received a Silver Medal for their strong performance. Three 6th grade students were recognized for their individual performances and received Outstanding Musicianship certificates. Students who received certificates included Hanna Holden on …

Stoughton High Music Department Presents 2013 Spring Fling Art Show and Concert

The Stoughton High Music Department's 2013 Spring Fling Art Show and Concert takes place Friday, May 17 at SHS.

The following is from the Stoughton High School Fine Arts Department: The Stoughton High School Fine Arts Department will present its 2013 Spring Fling Art Show and Concert on Friday, May 17 at Stoughton High. The Art Gallery will be open at 6:30 p.m. The concert portion will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium. The concert will feature the SHS Choirs under the direction of Griffin Coombs and the SHS Bands directed by John Mange. The SHS Drum Club will be directed by Andrew Davey. Tickets will be available at the door only. Adults $5, seniors and children $3, with a family maximum of $10. Stoughton Musicians from SHS, OMS Perform at Prestigious SEMSBA Honors Festival

Eleven music students - eight from the O'Donnell Middle School and three from Stoughton High School - recently participated in the 2013 Southeastern Massachusetts School Bandmasters Association Honors Festival.

The following is a press release from the Stoughton Public Schools Music Department: Eleven music students from the O’Donnell Middle School and Stoughton High School recently participated in the 2013 Southeastern Massachusetts School Bandmasters Association Honors Festival. The festival was held at Rockland School on Saturday, May 4. Stoughton High School Freshman Connor Nye performed with the Honors Orchestra. Stoughton Residents Featured in Local Production of "Hairspray"

Kate deLima, Carlos Ramos and Kellie McGrath are all appearing in the Riverside Theatre Works production of the Tony Award-winning musical Hairspray. The show opens May 10 and runs through May 19.

The Stoughton High Drama Department will be performing "The Wiz," a re-creation of the classic tale of the "Wizard of Oz," for its spring musical this year. Shows are Friday through Sunday, May 10, 11 and 12 at the SHS auditorium.

The Stoughton High drama department will be hosting its annual spring musical May 10-12 in the Stoughton High School auditorium. This year's production is called "The Wiz," which is a re-creation of the classic tale of the "Wizard of Oz," but with some fun twists. Show times are at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 10; 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 11; and 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 12. Tickets are $10 for general admission and $5 for students. This prolific cast and a fantastic crew have been working countless hours to get this production ready. Three Stoughton High Students Win Statewide Photography Contest

Jacob Casey, Payton Pizzano and Marissa Ramos all won first place in their respective categories in the General Federation of Women's Clubs of Massachusetts 2013 Photography Contest for High School students.

Three Stoughton High students won first place in their respective categories in the General Federation of Women's Clubs of Massachusetts 2013 Photography Contest for High School students. Jacob Casey, a freshman, won first place in the "Scenes" category. Payton Pizzano, a sophomore, won first place in the "living things category." And, Marissa Ramos, also a sophomore, won first place in the "Still Life" category. Stoughton Music Center's Group Ensemble Program Helping Students Hit All the Right Notes

The Stoughton Music School located in the Stoughton Music Center at 968 Washington Street will give you the opportunity to experience what it's like to be a performing artist.   Music lessons, voice lessons and performance techniques are available to all ages and skill levels.
