Stoughton Police Thank Community for Supporting Hurricane Sandy Donation Drive

After a successful drive to collect donations for victims of Hurricane Sandy, members of the Stoughton Police recently transported donations to Staten Island, NY. The Department issued a thank you message to the community for supporting the drive.

In the wake of Hurricane Sandy’s devastation to the New York/New Jersey area, the Stoughton Police Department kicked off a week-long donation drive starting November 5. The results were overwhelming.

Asking for donations of non-perishable foods, water, clothing, etc., the Community Room at the Police Station on Rose St. quickly became filled with boxes and bags full of items to be transported to hurricane victims in Staten Island, NY.

The following thank you message is from the Stoughton Police Department:

It is with great appreciation and thanks to the people and businesses that helped make the Stoughton Police Hurricane Relief Drive to Staten Island a success. The generous donations from businesses and the time volunteering by the citizens should be noticed.  A special Thanks to Christie’s Foods and Image First for donating the trucks.
