Stoughton Obituaries (September 9)
The following are obituaries for Stoughton residents or those with Stoughton ties for the week of September 2 - September 8: Edward Brawders; Carolyn (Peterson) Sharp; and William McCarthy.
Edward A. Brawders, 86, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at the Brockton Hospital after a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Dorothy E. (Lysko) Brawders, who died August 1.
Born and educated in Brockton, he was a graduate of Brockton Schools. Mr. Brawders was a resident of Stoughton for over 59 years. He was a Veteran of the United States Army Air Corps. Mr. Brawders worked as a Salesman for International Staple and Machine for over 20 years, retiring in 2002. An avid sports fan, in his free time he enjoyed fishing and golfing at Cedar Hill Golf Course in Stoughton.
He is survived by his children, James E. Brawders and his wife Sandra of Whitman and Andrea L. Brawders of Stoughton, as well as his grandson, Gregory Brawders. He was the brother of the late Arlene Caldwell and Donald Brawders. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) in Stoughton, on Monday, September 10, at 10 a.m. Visiting Hours are Sunday, September 9, from 2-4 p.m. at Farley Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Stoughton.

Carolyn (Peterson) Sharp
Carolyn (Peterson) Sharp, 74, of Stoughton, Easton and Raynham, MA, passed away on September 2, 2012 at Brockton Hospital with her daughters by her side.
Carolyn was born on January 2, 1938, in Boston, MA to Conrad Peterson and Elsie (Johnson) Peterson. She attended Stoughton High School. She worked at Aetna and Ark-Les Corporation. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Jeanne (Sharp) Motha of S. Dartmouth, MA, Kimberly (Sharp) Musto of Raynham, MA and Judith (Sharp) DeBonise of Wareham, MA. She will be missed by her 5 grandchildren, Ian Motha, Alex Motha, Gage DeBonise, Gracyn DeBonise, Carlo Musto, son in-laws Mark Motha & Robert Musto, special cousins and friends.
Funeral Service was held from the Farley Funeral Home in Stoughton on Saturday, Sept. 8.

William F. McCarthy, 78, passed away Friday, August 31, 2012 at the Hellenic Nursing Home in Canton after a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Jeanne F. (Cusack) McCarthy.
Born in Boston, he was raised and educated in Dedham. He was a resident of Hyde Park for over 30 years before moving to Stoughton in 2004.
Mr. McCarthy worked as a Salesman for National Cash Register for over 25 years, retiring at age 59. He also worked part time at Kelly's Liquor Mart in Hyde Park for many years. An animal lover, in his free time he enjoyed traveling to Foxwoods and spending time with his family. He was also an avid sports fan and enjoyed cheering on his hometown teams.
Mr. McCarthy is survived by his children, William McCarthy and his fiancé Denise of Dedham, Karen M. Burke, John McCarthy, Paul McCarthy all of Stoughton, Anne Marie Johnson and her husband Thomas of Franklin, Terri A. Golden and her husband Dennis of Norwood, Robert McCarthy and his wife Beth of Milford, Kevin McCarthy and his wife Cathy of Mansfield and Suzan B. Nicholson and her husband Richard of Stoughton.
He was the brother of Eugene McCarthy of Wareham, the late Richard McCarthy and Eunice Montgomery, and brother-in-law of Mary McCarthy and Joseph Cusack. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews,
Funeral was held from the Farley Funeral Home in Stoughton on Wednesday, September 5, which was followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church in Stoughton. Interment took place at Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.
