Stoughton Obituaries (Week of June 18)

The following are obituaries for Stoughton residents or those with Stoughton ties for the week of June 18.

 

Dorothy M. (Ceruti) Margolis

Dorothy M. (Ceruti) Margolis, a longtime resident of Stoughton, passed away unexpectedly in Brockton on Thursday June 21, 2012 surrounded by her loving family and friends.

She was 71 years old and the beloved wife of the late Howard “ Heshie” Margolis. Mrs. Margolis is survived by her loving children, Mark E. Margolis of Brockton, Stephen “ TAZ “ Margolis of Stoughton and Kim R. Margolis also of Stoughton.

She was also the cherished “NANA” of her only grandchild, her granddaughter Nicole Margolis, also of Stoughton. Other survivors include her brother Richard Ceruti and his wife Ginny of Walpole and several nieces and nephews.

Born on October 16, 1940 in Walpole, she was a daughter to the late Alfred and Mary (DeSavage) Ceruti. Dorothy attended Walpole Public Schools and was a graduate of Walpole High School. She was a self-employed Medical Sales Agent for many years. She also enjoyed bowling and fishing.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday June 25, from 4 – 8 p.m. in the Sheehan Funeral Home, 115 Monk Street in Stoughton. Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday June 26, at 11 a.m. from the Sheehan Funeral Home. Deacon Patrick Guerrini will officiate. A burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Stoughton.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society (1115 West Chestnut Street, Brockton, MA 02301) or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (New England Chapter, Bay State Branch, 20 Walnut Street, Suite 318, Wellesley Hills, MA 02481) in Mrs. Margolia ’s memory, would be appreciated.

Jeffrey Alan Engorn

Jeffrey Alan Engorn was born on July 28, 1947 and passed away on Friday, June 22, 2012.

Mr. Engorn was a resident of Stoughton, Massachusetts at the time of his passing.

Services were held at Stanetsky Memorial Chapels in Brookline, followed by a burial at Vilkomir Cemetery in Melrose. 

Donations in Jeffrey's memory may be made to the Neponset River House, 595 Pleasant Street, Norwood, MA 02062.

James W. "Jay" Williams III

James W. "Jay" Williams III, 55, died Thursday, June 14, 2012 at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington after a short period of failing health.

He was the son of James W. Williams Jr. and Marjorie A. (Spalding) Williams of Sagamore Beach, formerly of Stoughton. Born in Brockton, he was raised and educated in Stoughton and was a graduate of Stoughton Schools, Class of "74."

Mr. Williams worked for Bay State Gas as a Heavy Equipment Operator and Class A Team Leader from 1974-2000. He was a member of the Rising Star Masonic Lodge in Stoughton and was the Past master (1986). He was also a member of the Wilmington Aleppo Shriners.

In addition to his parents, Jay is survived by his brother Radcliffe "Rad" Williams and his wife Ann (Pellegrino), his nephew Matthew, and niece Marissa all of Stoughton. 

Private Family Services were held. Donations in Jay's memory may be made to POPS (Parents of Performing Students) Stoughton High School, 232 Pearl Street, Stoughton, MA 02072.
