Stoughton High’s Jade Paul Medals at Indoor Track All-State Championship

Jade Paul came in 6th in the 600-meter event. On the boys’ side, Brandon Alves competed in the shot put.

At the 2011 MIAA Indoor Track All-State championships, Stoughton High’s Jade Paul set a personal best in the 600-meter event, finishing in 1:36.06, a new school record.

This year Paul eclipsed that mark, finishing the 2012 All-State 600-meter race in 1:36.01, just off her new personal best and school record time of 1:35.90, set at the Division 2 MIAA Indoor Track & Field Championships on February 16.

Paul’s time of 1:36.01 at Sunday’s All-State meet, held at the Reggie Lewis Center, was tops in her heat and was good for sixth overall.

Up next for Paul is the New England Indoor Track Championship meet, held Friday, March 2 at the Reggie Lewis Center.

On the boys’ side, Brandon Alves represented Stoughton in the shot put at Sunday’s All-State meet, coming in 22nd with a throw of 44’, 6.25”.

“The meet capped a very successful season for the track captain whose personal best this season was 48'3”,” boys’ coach Harvey Blonder said.
