The Stoughton High Athletic Department along with the Prone Family Foundation will be providing SHS student athletes with a "golden opportunity" this summer, Athletic Director Ryan Donahue said.
SHS will be offering its athletes structured and supervised "Bigger Faster Stronger" workouts every Monday, Wednesday and Friday over the course of the summer as students prepare for the fall sports season and 2012-2013 school year.
Students will have the option to attend workouts in the recently renovated weightlifting room on Monday and Wednesdays from 8-10 a.m. and 10-12 p.m., as well as 4-6 p.m. for the students that have to work during the day. The facility will be open from 8-10 a.m. and 10-12 p.m. on Fridays.
This upcoming week, the gym will be open Monday, July 2 and Friday, July 6, but will be closed on Wednesday, July 4.
The summer workout program started this week and continues until mid-August when fall sports tryouts begin.
"This weight training program is designed to do exactly what its title is, make our student athletes bigger, faster and stronger," Donahue said.
Donahue added that this program is free to all Stoughton High School students, compliments of the Athletic Department and the Prone Family Foundation.
