Where are your favorite local places to shop?
We’ve dug up some features on local businesses from our archives. Take a look below.
Uncle Milty's Stoughton Army Navy Store Entrenched In The Center Of Town
Long before the "big-box" retail corporate giants dominated the consumer market, there were traditional "brick-and-mortar" destination shops like Uncle Milty's Stoughton Army Navy Store in Stoughton center.
Open since 1977, the store may be best known for its mascot—a wooden cigar-store Indian known as “The Chief,” placed on the sidewalk near the front door.
Staple products include tailor-made clothes for the working man and women - jeans, coveralls, thermal underwear, socks, boots, leather belts, work gloves.
