* Heading into last week, the Stoughton High boys' basketball team had already had two buzzer-beater finishes in its first three games, a 57-56 win at North Attleboro and a 79-78 loss to Franklin.
No last-second heroics were necessary in the Holliston Holiday Tournament, however. The Black Knights cruised to wins against Concord-Carlisle (70-42) last Tuesday and against Holliston (78-51) last Thursday, en route to capturing the tournament championship.
The Black Knights improve to 4-1 on the season.
Sophomore Aaron Calixte earned tournament MVP honors, scoring a combined 52 points in the two games, including a season-high 31 points in the championship game. Marcus Middleton and Kris Joyce were also named to the tournament all-star team.

* The Stoughton High hockey team did not fare as well in its holiday tournament in Dedham, unable to defend it's vacation week title from last year.
The Black Knights had success in spots, but as head coach Dan Mark alluded to, the team was not able to put together three periods of consistent play.
Stoughton (1-3) lost to the host team Dedham, 4-2 in the opening round last Tuesday and lost to Brookline, 4-1 last Wednesday in the consolation game.
