Play a Part in “Defining Stoughton’s Future” at Upcoming Master Plan Public Forum
A Stoughton Master Plan public forum is scheduled at the Senior Center the evening of Jan. 28.
The following is a press release from Stoughton Town Planner Noreen O’Toole:
On Monday, January 28 at 6 p.m. at the Stoughton Senior Center, 110 Rockland Street, the Town will host a public meeting to present and receive public comment on the draft vision, goals, and key issues of Phase One of the Town’s new Master Plan.
The Forum is the second of two major public meetings which is part of the planning process to create a town-wide Master Plan. The Plan will identify policies, regulations and initiatives needed to guide future changes in the community.
The consultant team, led by Brown Walker Planners, in conjunction with the Master Plan Committee, has engaged the community residents and business owners in a series of stakeholders interviews, public meetings, and an on-line survey.
The completion of Phase One of the Master Plan will result in a Visioning Report that includes an overview of existing conditions within the town, and a shared vision statement that outlines the community’s desired future.
Following a brief open house with light refreshments, the consultant team will solicit input in order to finalize the vision, goals and key issues which will be the foundation for the next phase of the Master Plan process.
Child care will be provided on a first come basis. Transportation for seniors and the disabled is also available. To request child-care or transportation needs please contact Karen Hall, Director of Council on Aging and Stoughton Youth Commission at (781) 344-8882.
