Photos from Stoughton’s 28-7 win over Sharon Saturday afternoon at home.
With Sharon limiting Stoughton’s running game, the Black Knights’ football team went to the air to beat the Eagles, scoring on touchdown passes of 27, 42 and 85 yards to turn a 7-0 deficit into a 21-7 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
Dan Eckler connected with Aaron Mack for the first TD strike (27-yards). Alex Fernandes hit Middleton for 42-yards before halftime. And, then Fernandes threw an 85-yard pass to Mack with 2:28 left in the third quarter.
Mack added a 1-yard touchdown run in the fourth for Stoughton’s final score, giving Stoughton a 28-7 win over the Eagles.
After Sharon scored first, about three minutes into the second quarter, the Stoughton defense clamped down and the Eagles had trouble moving the ball for the rest of the game, turning the ball over three times in the second half.
With the win, Stoughton improves to 3-1 (2-0 in the Hockomock League and 1-0 in the Davenport Division). The Black Knights will travel to North Attleboro on Thursday at 7 p.m.
