Hit-and-Run Crash in Stoughton Sends Three to Hospital, Including One via MedFlight

The car crash occurred shortly after 8 p.m. on July 8 at the intersection of Central and Washington Streets in Stoughton.

An apparent hit-and-run accident Sunday night in Stoughton sent three to the hospital, including one who was transported to Boston via MedFlight with serious injuries, according to fire and police officials.

The Stoughton Fire and Police Departments responded to the intersection of Washington and Central Streets in Stoughton shortly after 8 p.m. on July 8 for a hit-and-run accident.

A vehicle took off after hitting a four-door Honda sedan at the intersection, Captain Scott Breen of the SFD said.

The incident remains an ongoing investigation, SPD Officer Joseph DeSousa said.

There were three people in the Honda, Breen said.

A male passenger and female passenger were able to self-extricate from the vehicle and were transported to Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton with minor injuries.

But, the driver, a male, was extricated from the car using the Jaws of Life, since there was heavy damage to the driver's side door, according to Breen.

The driver was the transported to Stoughton High School, which was used as a MedFlight landing zone. He was then taken to a hospital in Boston via MedFlight, Breen said.

Probably another unlicensed driver, in the country illegally, with no insurance, intoxicated. I know, a generality, but, one of those above is most likely the case.

Would love to hear what happen. Jeffrey when you get the details of what happen, please post them.
I agree Michele, Central St turning onto Washington St is almost taking your life into your own hands if you don't have a green arrow. But also, I see a ton of drivers who speed up for the yellow light and mostly run the red.

Fiscal Conservative not saying I totally disagree but don't jump to conclusions, there are some pretty stupid Americans that drink and drive especially the young drivers. I live by the high school and I see kids leaving the high school all the time not paying attention and driving way too fast. I am going to go with another texter!

Shouldn't there be an update on the investigation by now? At that time of night there would have been plenty of witnesses in addition to the occupants of the Honda that was hit. Also, with that being one of the most dangerous intersections in the state, there should be video surveillance in place!

I agree with you Just Saying. being one of the most dangerous intersections really had nothing to do with the accident, this idiot ran a red light. what are these people thinking or not thinking while driving, as a mother of 3 I am terrified.
