The Stoughton High varsity field hockey team was edged 2-0 by Franklin, the defending Hockomock League Kelly-Rex Division champions, Monday at home.
Coach Dan Mark said "Katie Cellucci was outstanding in goal, making 15 saves."
He also praised senior captains Kelsie LaFerriere and Ilanna Schlehuber for their respective performances.
Stoughton, now 0-2-1 to start the season, travels to new Hockomock League foe Taunton on Wednesday, September 12 and will host Davenport Division rival Sharon on Friday, September 14.
