And now we face the challenge of how to polish our jewel. The land has such a rich history from the 1657 Ponkapoag Indian Plantation (and we have stone artifacts from long before this date) to the present. The Historical Society will do its part in getting the history out there by working on programs, plaques, and exhibits The land also presents great possibilities for SOME of the following: ball fields, tennis courts, a playground like the Bradley P. Lessa, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, cross country skiing, skating, snowshoeing, AND a chance for the older generations to reminisce about their Glen Echo memories. None of these things come without the expenditure of time, effort, and/or money, but Glen Echo is worth it. Let's do it.
