Bob’s Famous Foodmart Gearing Up for Sunday’s Annual Kid’s Day, 5K Run
Bob’s Famous Foodmart’s 8th Annual Kid’s Day and 3rd Annual Bob DiMatteo Memorial 5K Run (and 3-Mile Walk and 1-mile Fun Run) takes place Sunday, Sept. 23. Proceeds go towards helping families and organizations in the Stoughton community.
Bob’s Famous Foomart will be hosting its 8th Annual Kid’s Day and 3rd Annual Bob DiMatteo Memorial 5K Run (and 3-Mile Walk) Sunday, Sept. 23 at Bob’s (289 Park St. in Stoughton).
It’s two events in one. All the fun takes place, rain or shine, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Sunday. Camp Westwoods & Endurance Fitness Systems are event co-sponsors. DJ David Jardin will provide the music.
At 9 a.m. there will be a free 1-mile fun run for kids and at 10 a.m. there will be a 5K run and a three-mile walk.

There is a 200 runner limit. Entry fee will be $25 for runners, $20 for walkers and $25 for walking families. On the day of the event 5k runners will receive a free dry-fit t-shirt (if pre-registered). Race day registration is $30 for runners and for walking families.
The 5K course covers Birch Street, Park Street, Ash Street, Cedar Street, and Sumner Street, beginning and ending at Bob’s. Runners and walkers (of drinking age) will get one free drink ticket.
The Kid’s Day follows, which includes mini-races and an obstacle course at 11:30 a.m. There will also be a dunk tank, child quest ID’s and fingerprinting, a fire engine, face painting, bake sale, hot dogs and sausages and a raffle (held at 1:30 p.m.). Raffle tickets are $1.
Some of the prizes this year include a Cedar Hill Golf Outing, sports tickets, gift certificates for local restaurants & much more. The grand prize this year will a $500 gift certificate to Bob’s Famous Foodmart.
Proceeds from the Kids Day and 5K Run will go towards funding two Stoughton High scholarships; helping a local family affected by cancer; and benefiting Stoughton Fire Safety, Stoughton Police Explorers, Blue Dog Shelter and the Stoughton Youth Commission.
The Prone Family Foundation will be matching the funds raised during the race that will go towards helping a local family affected by cancer.
Parking for the event will be provided by Farley Funeral Home across the street (358 Park St.)
