Baugh Sets Stoughton High Record in 300-Meters at MSTCA Meet; O'Neil Qualifies for States
Several members of the Stoughton High boys' and girls' indoor track teams turned in impressive results at the MSTCA meet Jan. 26.

Members of the Stoughton High boys' and girls' track teams competed this past Saturday, Jan. 26 at the MSTCA meet (Massachusetts State Track Coaches Association) held at the Reggie Lewis Center.
On the boys' side, the star of the day was Malachi Baugh, who set a new school record in the 300-meters with a time of 37.16 seconds.
Also setting personal bests at the meet were David Lockhart in the mile (4:39.02) and Alec DeNapoli in the 1000-meters (2:53.90).
Jack D'Addieco (600-meters - 1:28.77) and Pat Jackman (55-meters - 7.08 seconds) showed they are nearly back to full strength following recent injuries.
Harley David ran well in both the 55-meter high hurdles (8.62 seconds) and the 55-meter dash (7.14 seconds). Both times were just a tick off his bests.
Kevin McDonald ran the 55-meter high hurdles (8.91 seconds) and took part in the long jump (18'11").
Also participating in the meet were John Eppenstein (55-meter high hurdles), Jason Marshall (600-meters) and Mike Romaine (600-meters).
On the girls' side, eight members of the SHS team competed.
Kerry O'Neil qualified for states in the mile, finishing in 5:38.25. Katie Daly also ran in the mile.
Maya Barrant set two new personal bests - one in the hurdles (9.74 seconds) and the other in the dash (7.94 seconds).
Shelby Sprague ran the dash in a time of 8:32 seconds. Imani David and freshman Michaela peck ran in the 300-meter event and both set new personal bests (David 46.69 seconds and Peck 47.88 seconds).
Shannon Barkey ran the 600-meters in 1:50.06, while Rachel Berkowsky, still in pursuit of a qualifier in the 1000-meters, ran 3:24.14.
