HAPPY BIRTHDAY to: Jake & Connor Gillis, who turn three today. Their dad is Jeremy Gillis, Town Clerk in Easton, who makes his home in Stoughton.  Happy Birthday also to Stoughton Firefighter/EMT Scott Mellyn.

THE SKY IS FALLING:  Guess it's not actually the sky, but instead bricks from the building downtown that is propped up with wood and cordened off from the street. Stoughton's Hank Herbowy captured this shot of bricks which had fallen off the side and top of the building onto the sidewalk below. Repairs are ongoing inside the building, which has had a fire and a . It is the former home of Cheng-Du in the downtown.

No word yet on when the , which is located where both buildings meet, will be able to re-open. The owner was told he would have to close for 30 days---that was a few months ago.

FEELING LIKE A MILLION BUCKS:  Congratulations to Daniel R. Falvey, Jr. who won a cool million dollars on a ticket from the Massachusetts Lottery’s Billion Dollar Blockbuster Game. He purchased the lucky ticket at Stop & Shop on Washington Street, which will receive a $10,000 commission. He didn't return a call from About Town seeking comment on his win. (Probably figured I was a new "relative" looking for a few bucks.)

SCHOOL COMMITTEE REORGANIZATION: The Stoughton School Committee will reorganize on June 28, 2011. So, in the meantime, Tom Colburn will remain and Chairman and Allan Mills will remain as Vice Chairman. About Town has already predicted that come June 28, two women will lead the way for the schools. Look for Joyce Husseini to be elected Chair and Deb Sovinee Vice Chair of the School Committee that day.
