ABOUT TOWN: Kenny Wormald, "One Human Race" Coming to Local High School (And More...)

Welcome to "About Town with Mark Snyder," a column that will keep you up to the minute with what's what, who's who and what's going on around town. If you see or hear something we could use here, let us know by sending an e-mail to pmpco@aol.com.

ONE HUMAN RACE: The Project Moves Dance Company is doing a very special benefit performance of One Human Race, a critically-acclaimed evening of dance theatre that has moved and inspired sold out audiences across New England.

Its powerful messages of human acceptance and respect are the cornerstones of the Project Moves non-profit mission.

VIP Tickets are $100 each, and include gourmet refreshments, mingling with special guests, guest speakers and presentations, gift bags, and raffle prizes.

The VIP Seats will help to pay for 350 tickets given FREE to local middle school and high school students!

The event takes place on Thursday, June 28, starting at 7:30 p.m. at Oliver Ames High School, 100 Lothrop Street in North Easton.

It will feature Stoughton native, and the star of the most recent theatrical release of "Footloose," Kenny Wormald.

Wormald is a Project Moves alum, and is a graduate of Stoughton High School (check out a picture of him attending his brother Lee's graduation this June, here - photo #13). He was also elected to the Stoughton High School Hall of Academic Achievement.

Also featured is Stoughton resident Max Fineman. He is a senior at Gann Academy in Waltham. His mom Elaine, says that Max has been dancing since he was six.

The kids in Project Moves train at the Gold School in Brockton.

Project Moves Dance Company has been featured on ABC TV's "Dancing with the Stars," and on one of New York City's most prestigious dance stages at the Joyce Theater.

General Admission tickets are $25. To purchase tickets, or to make a donation, please visitwww.projectmoves.org.

SING-OFF: Megan Porter (SHS '08) is doing an online singing contest. It would be nice if Stoughton residents supported this talented local lady's endeavor!

Please give her a vote and see if we can help her win.

Megan attends Berklee College of Music, and has recorded an extensive amount of performances there. Check out her My Space page and listen to some of her music.
