COMMEMORATING SEPTEMBER 11 TERROR ATTACKS: On September 11, 2001 life in the U.S. was permanently altered. Four coordinated terrorist attacks by al-Qaeda on American soil took nearly 3,000 lives in total and forever changed our lives.
The Stoughton Clergy Association is holding a Service of Remembrance on Sunday, September 11, in commemoration of the 10th anniversary of these attacks.
It will be held at the First Congregational Church of Stoughton, 76 Pierce Street, at 7 p.m. This will be an opportunity for people of all faiths to come together to pray, to sing, to light a candle, and to remember. This service is open to everyone in the community.
The Stoughton Fire Department will host a brief ceremony at 9:59 a.m. on Sunday, September 11, 2011 at Station 1, 30 Freeman St. The fire department will sound the bells and have a short prayer.
Sunday, a special two-part ABOUT TOWN column, will have readers share their memories of that day, and how they thought it has affected America.
It starts at 8 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m. The event is held in the Group Exercise Studio at Elite.
