"Five Things you Need to Know Today" is a Patch column that provides readers with essential, daily information at a glance:
1. Updated List of College Acceptances for Stoughton High Seniors
Click on the link below to take a look at which colleges members of the Stoughton High Class of 2013 - this year's seniors - have been accepted to so far (as reported to the Stoughton High guidance office).
This is still fairly early in the acceptance process, so many more schools are expected to be added to this list in the coming weeks.
To date, these colleges and universities have offered the Class of 2013 a total of $3,815,200 in merit scholarships, according to the SHS guidance office.
2. Party All Night Long March Madness Fundraiser
Party All Night Long (PANL), which runs a safe all-night graduation party for the Stoughton High senior class each year, is hosting its 3rd Annual March Madness Fundraiser - a night of fun for the parents.
It takes place Saturday, March 16 from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the Portuguese National Club, 21 Railroad Ave. in Stoughton. This event has been so successful the past two years that it has been moved to a larger venue this year.
The $100 Cash Elimination Raffle Tickets are already sold out but tickets to the event itself are still available.
The evening features live Music by Stoughton’s own Jack Raeke and “The Standards", appetizers, desserts, silent auction, raffles and door prizes. There will be a cash bar available.
“The silent auction is fantastic this year,” said Rose Eckler, chairperson of the March Madness Event. “We have hotel getaways, tons of spa and restaurant gift certificates and the most sought after item is a hand crafted Pine Hope Chest made by local Seamus Fennessy. Last year his donation sold for over $500!”
A full list of auction items is posted as a PDF in the media gallery of this article.
3. West School PTO Game Show Night
The West School PTO is holding a Game Show Night/Dinner Auction on Friday, March 15 from 7 p.m. until midnight at Club Luis de Camoes at 76 Porter Street in Stoughton.
The evening features games, prizes and more. It is for adults only (21+).
