STOUGHTON NATIVE'S FILM COMING IN OCTOBER: Stoughton High graduate Kenny Wormald gets his chance for fame and fortune in October.

The grad of The Gold School of Dance Art in Brockton, stars in the new film version of "Footloose", playing the role of Ren McCormick (made famous in the original by Kevin Bacon.)

He got his start at age six, dancing at home to New Kids on the Block music. Under the guidance of Sherry Gold, he learned his stuff.

At eleven, he won the Master Dance of New England; at thirteen, Junior Mr. Dance of New England; Teen Dancer of Boston at fourteen, and Teen Mr. Dance of New England at fifteen. 

Wormald has been featured as a dancer in music videos with Madonna, Mariah Carey's "It's Like That", JoJo's "Baby It's You", Christina Aguilera's "Candyman", Chris Brown's "Gimme That", Nelly Furtado's "Promiscuous Girl", and Prince And Pussycat Dolls "Bottle Pop."

He has also toured with Justin Timberlake.  But, he is best known for his appearances on the MTV network show Dancelife, and his starring role in Center Stage: Turn It Up. 

The new film, directed by Craig Brewer, is scheduled for release October 14, 2011.
