GIRL SCOUT FUNDRAISER: The Stoughton Girl Scouts will be holding a car wash on Saturday September 24 from 9 a.m. until noon at Walgreens on Washington Street in Stoughton.

The 100th anniversary of Girl Scouts in the USA will be celebrated throughout 2012. The Stoughton Girl Scouts will be travelling to the anniversary sing-along on the National Mall in Washington D.C. in June.

It is anticipated that approximately 200,000 Girl Scouts and Girl Scout Guides from around the world will be at this event. Funds raised will help to defray the cost of the trip for the Stoughton girls.

ANNUAL DINNER & CHARITY AUCTION: The Annual Knights of Pythias Bay State - Sinai Lodge #141 Dinner and Charity Auction will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at the New England Sinai Hospital in Stoughton [a 501(c)(3) charitable, non-profit corporation].

The event, which is being held in conjunction with the Sinai Men's Associates, will begin in the hospital's Brenner Conference Center with dinner at 6 p.m., followed by the auction at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $12.50 per person and those attending are asked to bring an unwrapped, new auctionable item valued at $25 or more. The dinner and auction event is being held to raise funds to benefit Sinai patient and family programs.

Members of the local business community are welcome to donate high quality auction items. Proper recognition will be offered.

For reservations and more information, please call (781) 963-RAK-1 (963-7251).

The Knights of Pythias Bay State - Sinai Lodge #141 was established in October of 2010, and according to David Kahan, Past Chancellor Commander and resident of Randolph, MA,

"This new Lodge allows us to focus our efforts on Sinai because we and the Men's Associates members are dedicated to doing everything we can to make a difference for Sinai patients and their families."

Thousands of Sinai patients have been treated over the years with equipment purchased through the generosity of the Knights of Pythias. Since 1990, their gifts to support patient care have created a legacy of caring that truly helps Sinai patients and their families.

The Knights of Pythias is an international non-sectarian, fraternal organization, which performs charitable work in various communities. It was founded in 1864 on the principals of Friendship, Charity and Benevolence in an attempt to bring brothers from both sides of the Civil War closer together.

It is the first fraternal organization to be granted a charter under a special act of the United States Congress. This year, along with lodges throughout North America, the Order is celebrating its 143rd anniversary and its tradition of extending the hand of friendship to many who have been in need. The Massachusetts Grand Lodge was instituted in 1869.

For more information, contact Roger A. Kahan, Lodge Secretary and Vice President of the Sinai Mens Associates at 781-963-7251 or 781-963-8500.
